Hi and welcome to Kim's Kakes.

I am a self-taught cake maker and decorator on Chincoteague Island, Virginia.

I was born with an artistict flair and have been involved in some sort of craft project from stained glass, painting, needlepoint, pottery, and scrapbooking since I was a small child.

A chance meeting with a Wilton instructor at a Micheal's Arts & Crafts store led me on my current path as a cake maker. I have completed several Wilton decorating classes and learned the basic techniques needed to make professional cakes. Along the way, I have learned from many others who have perfected the art and adopted many "tips & tricks" to cake decorating.

Along with making beatiful and sometimes whimsical cakes, I strive to make sure my cakes our made with the freshest and most delicious ingredients available.
