Kim Cherrix is a self-taught cake maker and decorator on Chincoteague Island, Virginia.A chance meeting with a Wilton instructor at a Micheal's Arts & Crafts store led her on her current path as a cake maker. After completing several Wilton decorating classes and learning the basic techniques needed to make professional cakes, she has also learned from many of the world's best and well known cake artists and adopted many of their "tips & tricks" to making beautiful cakes.Along with making elegant and sometimes whimsical cakes, she strives to make sure her cakes are made with the freshest and most delicious ingredients available.

All of our cakes are made fresh to order, using only the finest and freshest ingredients. Special requests are always welcome! Our Wedding cakes are made using an old and delicious, scratch "Glorious" sponge cake recipe. Light and fluffy, we're sure you'll love it!

All Cakes are 4" high and consist of either 2 - 2" layers or 4 - 1" layers. Client preference.Party Cakes:Themed Cakes: Adult, Baby or Bridal Shower, Birthday, Grooms, and Special Occasion cakes. $1.50-$2.00/slice.Tiered Themed Cakes: Adult, Baby or Bridal Shower, Birthday, Grooms, and Special Occasion cakes. $2.00-$2.50/slice.Download Party Cake Pricing per slice guide in .pdf format below.Other shapes available: Heart, Oval, Petal, and Hexagon.3D Cakes: Start at $2.00 per serving. Cost depends on complexity of design. $50.00 minimum.Smith Island Cakes:9" Round, 6" High, 18-20 servings: Basic Flavors: $25.00 Specialty Flavors: $30.00 "Candy/Cookie" Flavors: $40.00Wedding Cakes:Tiered Buttercream wedding cakes are $2.00 per servingTiered Fondant wedding cakes are $3.00 per servingBasic flavors, fillings and frostings are included in the above price.Specialty flavors, fillings, and frostings are an additional .25 to .50 cents per serving, depending on ingredients or liquors needed. Mousse and Ganche will be an additional charge.Sugar Artwork such as gumpaste, draping, or string work requires extra time and is very detailed. A quote will be provided once the design is chosen.Fresh Flowers can be used in place of, or in conjuntion with sugar flowers. We will need the contact information of your florist.A $50.00 non-refundable retainer fee will be required to reserve your spacial day. It is deducted from the total balance when the balance is paid 3 weeks prior to your wedding day.If cake structures, supports, boosts, plates, or other retail equipment is needed, a seperate refundable deposit is required. Deposit will be refunded if items are returned within two weeks of wedding day.There will be an additional charge for "rush" orders placed less than 3 weeks from date of event. No orders can be placed less than 1 week from event. Balance must be paid in full for "rush" orders.Delivery of all cakes within Chincoteague is free.Only Wedding cakes will be deliverd outside of Chincoteague at a fee of $2.00 per mile, all other cakes must be picked-up. Pickup times are by appointment only.

We prefer initial inquires by email, our Contact Us page, or you may call and leave a message. All cakes are made by us personally and we can't always stop to answer the phone. When you contact us, let us know what kind of cake you have in mind, and how many servings you may need. We will normally get back to you within 24 hours to discuss a good time to meet to discuss the details, go over the contract and confirm the order.
